Philip Johnson schooling and early work

While Johnson was in high school he went to a liberal
Congregationalist church, he did not take Christian doctrine
seriously. He did not take it seriously because he says it was just
like a boy scouts being nice. He went to Harvard at the age of 17 in
1957. Johnson then went to University of Chicago Law School.
Then he had to choose were to live in Berkeley or Yale, he picked
Berkeley, the reason why he picked to live there was because
Berkeley law professors were more like him they were like public
school types and the Yale were way too preppy for him. He did
well on test but never worked very hard for his studies. Philip
Johnson did not like exams because he said that they were dumb
and so he just keep on flunking them. He went to Berkeley in
1967. Johnson’s early work was The Glass House. The Glass
House was made out of Glass, the walls the windows. The Glass
House was made in New Canaan, Connecticut. After that he made
other buildings like Seagram Building in NY and build1959. Then
the Fort Worth Water Gardens in the year 1974, AT&T Building in
New York in the year 1984. The Transco Tower in Houston TX,
Pennzoil Place and NCNB Center in Houston TX, Bell Tower,
Crystal Cathedral, Garden Grove Community Church, California.
