Philip Johnson befor he was a famous architect

Philip Johnson’s birthday is July.8, 1906. Johnson was

born In Cleveland, Ohio. He attended Hackley in Tarrytown, New

York. He then went to Harvard as an undergraduate where he

focused on history and Philosophy. Johnson graduated from

Harvard University in 1927 with a degree in. Philosophy. Philip

Johnson’s dad was a lawyer, had a lot of money, and loved to play

golf on his days off. His mother was a housewife and was

interested in architecture. Johnson grew up in Aurora, Illinois and

also Went to Sunday school because he said it was good for kids.

Philip was a spoiled boy was very unpopular at school and with

girls and he couldn’t dance. Before Philip Johnson did not now

that he wanted to be a teacher or a theoretician or anything else but

he was always interested in art and architecture and like to look at

it but he couldn’t draw so he was like he knew he couldn’t be an

architect. Hi mother all ways was interested in architecture and she

wanted to buy a house by Frank Lloyd Wright but his dad did not

want to. The person that influenced him was his philosophy

professor at Harvard, Rafael Demos they worked together in

school but he did not help him with architectural things.
